Step into a world where every detail tells a story. In our shop, you'll find the original Mouse Mansion sets featured in the book series. Take your time exploring the detailed rooms, apartments, shops, and workplaces that bring this miniature world to life. You'll recognize Sam & Julia and other familiar characters, along with surprising details like Grandpa Sailor's harbour, the museum, railway, and hot air balloon.

Anniversary Weekend

The Mouse Mansion is turning 15, and we're celebrating in style with an anniversary weekend! Come to The Mouse Mansion on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October for a packed party programme for young and old.

Watch Sam & Julia come to life in an intimate theatre show, listen to the loveliest stories, get crafty in our special workshop, or sink into a beanbag during our cosy Movie Night with popcorn. There's something for everyone! Check out the programme below and don't miss out.

Little Mouse Door Workshop

Get creative in our cozy workshop space! Take a seat, put on your Sam & Julia apron and start decorating your very own Little Mouse Door. Paint the door, ladder and mailbox in your favourite colours and bring them to life with the sticker sheet. Fun for all ages — little ones from 4 can join in (with a helping hand), and grown-ups love it just as much. When you're done, you'll take home a one-of-a-kind keepsake from Sam & Julia's world.

Everything you need is provided: apron, paints, stickers and your own little door. Just bring yourself! Our team is happy to help in both English and Dutch.

Every Saturday*, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm | no reservation needed, just walk in whenever you like | last workshop starts at 4:15 pm.

*On Saturday 10 October, this workshop will not take place due to the special Anniversary Weekend programme.

Play a game of bingo!

Turn your visit into a treasure hunt. Hand your little detective a bingo card and watch them look at the Mouse House in a whole new way. Can they spot the baker, Grandpa Sailor, Ella, Sam, Julia and the triplets going about their day?

It's a game that keeps children happily busy while gently teaching them to slow down and really look at each little room.

The Mini Museum is very easily reached by public transportation. From Central Station it's about a 20 minute scenic walk through the historic center.

Located in the heart of Amsterdam, parking can be challenging with steep fees. We recommend using P+R locations on the city outskirts.

Very nice shop. On two floors there's all sorts to see: beautifully built rooms and houses and the explanation of how you can do that yourself at home. From the lady behind the counter we actually received a treasure hunt right upon entering, for which we got a nice diorama/viewing box set when we handed it in. All in all: a nice experience with small children!

Very nice shop to go to with young children when you're in Amsterdam. Especially if you've ever read aloud from the Mouse Mansion books. It starts even before you go inside with the little front doors that are on the side of the shop window. Inside too, they can't believe their eyes. Then up the stairs to the top floor. And... of course they really want to be allowed to take something home with them.

Ended up here by chance and not a shred of regret. What craftsmanship! A lovely young lady who receives customers warmly. For the children there's a children's bingo and they get a postcard when they succeed. There's really a story behind everything. The combination of the warm welcome and high-quality craftsmanship deserves a big ten! All the books are illustrated based on the shop's interior.
